My uncle works with a Pakistani who comes from the NWFP. He showed him a photo of his family home because they were talking about motorbikes or something and the Paki guy has a bunch of them. All over the photo, literally every guy has an AK slung casually under his arm. My uncle asked why and the Paki says "everybody carries a rifle when they go out- it's like the British and umbrellas."
