A lot of the monks at my college were grads from top places. One from ISI, one from IISc and three from IITs.
They used to take classes. But their order doesn't take non graduates and my college was their best one so not very representative.
I tried debating religion with the one from ISI
tbh it felt like there's some sort of mental block where he refused to treat certain knowledge the way he would other.

One (disappointing) thing we all learn is that you could have a person succeed in an intellectually rigorous field and have them be completely braindead in areas outside their field(usually History and econ when it comes to STEM-cels because they'll talk about it regardless).
