So busy observing foreign law and order issues they can't look at their own.

According to a statement released by Vancouver Police Department, Inderdeep Singh Gosal, 32, has been charged with second-degree murder following a stabbing outside a downtown Vancouver Starbucks on Sunday evening. Paul Stanley Schmidt, 37, has been identified as the victim.

>Bring knife after argument, wait outside for him to leave

>Not premeditated

@SucksCheedAndFeed2023Inc what constitutes premeditation in Canadian law lmao? Taking out an insurance policy on the victim?

I never got why unpremeditated murder was a lesser charge. Like premeditated there's probably at least some signs it's going to happen. If I cause someone to premeditate murder I'll probably have a hunch. Unpremeditated this guy can fly off the handle at any time, much greater danger.

Anyone could really frick up in a fight and get too angry and kill someone. Most men are probably capable of that. Premeditated means they’re probably a psychopath and it’s a lot more concerning that they had the time to think about their actions and still went ahead with it.

It's mainly because of intent, which is a major factor in criminal law. Premeditation implies to intent to kill. Unpremeditation can imply a lot of things ranging from mental illness to accident.

True but I think in some situations becoming murderous is also sort of justified(like when a car cuts me off so hard I have to brake :ragestrangle:). But unpremeditated should be like beating someone to death in a fight not laying in wait with a knife and standing guard to ensure no one can help them till they bleed out.
