I'm kind of surprised China was that far ahead of us even in 1965 tbh no wonder they took off like they did. If they were then where we are now with zero contact with westoid capitali etc that's a massive industrial base to spring board from once the investments started coming in. :marseythinkorino: Yet their GDP/capita figures were similar to our's, which would imply what agriculture was far less productive? :marseyhmm: I don't think its possible to be much less productive than the Indian peasant per capita and not starve but then again lots of Chinamen did so :marseyshrug:
