I have absolutely no idea about India, what's the point of a name change? Is it because "India" is some colonial remnant while bharat is the name indians themselves call it?

India was basically what people to the west always called it cause the first river system they came across was the Indus, from the Persians to the Arabs. But it was kept cause of this whole idea where India wasn't a country of just those who claimed it was their home but also those who proudly proclaim foreign allegiance(abrahamics) so using any native term for the country is discriminatory and exclusionary etc.

As in for all Indian languages or the Indo-Aryan ones/Hindi?

Concept of Bharat is itself Indo Aryan since Dravidians never really influenced places to the far north and all the Dravidian languages have significant Sanskrit loanwords/influences generally.

Bharata was the name of a clan in the Rig Veda, its a fairly old word.

Why not rename India to Desi-land?

Des means country, wouldn't make sense

Okay so Desi-stan?

Again, naming your country country doesn't make sense. And if we're doing away with foreign names, endonyms are a no go too.
