Not really. You are off the mark by a distance. Like any governing party of a land mass, Hamas is the governing party of Gaza, which has a political wing and an army. Israel is an occupying force, modern version of colonialism, very similar to how India was under the colonial rule of British. British called the Indian freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Chandrasekhar Azad as terrorists. Just because the British called them terrorist, do they become one? We do call them freedom fighters. And how BJP representatives calls everyone else, who doesn't line up with their ideology as anti-nationals. Does everyone become anti-nationals then? Israel is using a similar tactic by calling Hamas a militant or terrorist organization. They are not. They are trained military, although at a much lower level.

The Oct 7th didn't happen in a total Vaccuum. An occupying force which has been brutalizing the native population for 75 years, Israel should have done a better job at protecting their own people, whom they invited and paid to occupy there. Either they let it happen or it's a total security failure. We'd never know!

There is a lot of misinformation on what actually happened on Oct 7th. Israeli media released the list of people who died on Oct 7th and lot of people who died were military personal. And there is footage floating around, showing IDF helicopters carpet firing without any regard for civilian population. A lot of people die in a war, but the first thing that dies is the truth.

There are multiple stories running around like the music festival itself wasn't supposed to happen at the place it was happening, when the breach happened. The music festival was shifted close to the border only a few days before the Oct 7th and what was the reason to shift it closer to a vulnerable border? We'd never know if the Israel ruling elite, anticipated attack and let it happen, sacrificed the civilians to get the support of US, EU and UK to push the Gaza population into Sinai and steal their Gas.

Close to the border, Gazans doing an unarmed protests were sniped, less than a few weeks before Oct 7th. It's a lot more complicated to simply declare, it's completely wrong to side with Hamas.
