It all comes back to leftoids being more motivated by leftoid ideas and than rightoids are by rightoid ideas. Leftoids genuinely love big government and gibs, as well as fighting against racists, homophobes, and Nazis.
This is how they take over institutions as well. Preaching against racism and sexism, and grabbing power under the guise of preventing these -isms. They offer new converts a sense of moral superiority over others. And after they take over institutions, anyone who doesn't believe in their ideals must be a racist!
