In my short visit, I have known that is exclusively the case. You can tell whether someone is a high caste or low caste just based on their last names

The untouchables know they will be treated even worse if the Muslims are somehow liquidated/ousted. So they will lobby 110% against that. Why would they even choose to support your "India is for Hindoo" pitch?
From my very limited research into untouchability (which is a very singular phenomenon, even more disgusting than apartheid), most of the poor Muslims in India were converted from untouchables because they wanted to escape the stigma.
I see the Britishers buck breaking the arrogant Brahmins as a good thing and when India asks for Brits for reparations it smacks of egregious hypocrisy.

You believe India is a hierarchy and I'll agree wealth wise it certainly is but that's because lower castes are actual troglodytes and that equates to poor wages in a knowledge economy. This wealth status is recent, built off individual slogging through the education system(and coping with affirmative action even then lol).
Politically it is and has been a state for the lower castes since independence and it wasn't purely because of their votes(though those didn't hurt), the urban upper classes who effectively drove the polity till the 80s were on a mission to build an equitable outcomes society, from land 'redistribution'(if you had slightly larger plots than average and were from a nono caste
) to urban commies infiltrating the countryside to incite a land labourer uprising against the agricultural castes. As far as caste conflict goes, the most prominent trend is conflict between said landlord castes, middle castes, and the lower castes landless labourers IRL, upper castes were never as involved in land and dispossessed by the state where they were.
So really we see very different realities. You think I'm laughing from atop a pyramid of delete skeletons(based), I see it all as very rightful insults hurled at those trying to institute apartheid against me and mine(despite, again, my ancestors being the very people having 'liberated' them) but ultimately its all impotent seethe. Perhaps its karma for having done so

I wasn't fazed by this because who cares what two families decide.
Then he said there are websites dedicated to finding suitable partners where you could exclude all options other than your preferred caste

If you actually looked at exam results its kind of hard not to notice how 75% of the country can barely get ~10-20% of the positions based on merit. I'll give an example, I ranked 290 in an exam with 50k candidates. My rank in my(general) category was 279. So from 75% of the population(which gets some sort of affirmative action) only 11 people could make it in the top 300 spots. It isn't structured that way but you can basically guarantee anyone from those groups in uni got in with affirmative action.
