B-word your national pride comes from getting perforated by roaches. I'd rather not have national pride like that.

India doesn't produce oil or diamonds incidentally.

And as for achievements, as a rich and prosperous country what has Australia achieved? We have the space program, missiles, nukes, a lot. Still too little but w/e. You can't even defend your own country, have to depend on mutts for it :marseylaughpoundfist:

What we've achieved is a good life for our citizens, one of the best in the world. What you've achieved is some curry-flavoured nukes and a whole lot of slums. I realise you may not understand this point as Australia has an average IQ of 99 compared to India's 77.

Yes, if we sat on some of the largest mineral deposits on Earth with a population of 20 million we'd be very prosperous too. You can't even LARP the whole manifest destiny stuff like mutts, you didn't fight for the land and you didn't even choose to go there you were deported for stealing bread in lundun :marseyemojirofl: I repeat, what have Australians achieved, created. Inventions, innovations, production of goods and services. Not consooming more, if you define your life by what you consoom that's just too pathetic.

Which is the country that has achieved more? China or Greece? Cause the latter has twice the gdp/capita of the former.

Yeah, the Congo and Argentina has similar natural resources, in fact in the first decades of the last century we were often compared with the latter. Yet today we have a living standard compared with the best and Argentina does not, clearly resources are not the only factor.

India has plenty of natural resources, 1.4 billion people to work them and over 70 years of independence to do something with it.

If you're asking what we achieved, WIFI began in the CSIRO in Australia and combined arms warfare was more or less invented by Sir John Monash, born less than 100km from where I was.

India has everything and lives in misery and despair, Australia has everything but the population and lives in a paradise that Indians flock to every year. Which country has succeeded?

Argentina had only agri resources which are useless in a world of high agri protectionism. Pre WW2 it was an asset, WW2 made all governments insist on autarky in food at least, even post war. Heck agri remains one of the most controversial topics at WTO though its shrunk to sub 10% of GDP for most countries. People are much more ready to allow in finished goods duty free than they are food.

If you're comparing yourself with literally Congo you realize you're clutching at straws right? Its a failed state. And it never had a shot at being anything else. You have performed at par with the GCC countries. Well not at par, Dubai looks a lot snazzier. But still.

India doesn't have 'plenty' of natural resources lol. The only thing we have is coal. Which too is lowest quality fit only for power plants, coking coal has to be imported. No oil, no uranium. No rare earths. Certainly nothing approaching 200B USD in value we just dig up and export every year lol.
