Yes, I'm saying it being subsumed into Hindi is a good thing wonly. You really think Maithili had any actual use? Imagine Maithilis being unable to communicate in Kol or Delhi, they're Somalia tier now with all that remittance without it god knows what they would be. I've seen personally how big a handicap not knowing any language other than Bengali was for my classmates in college. And ultimately no matter how much each of us regionalists kang this is the fate of all non hindi languages and it will all be for good wonly. No state can exist like this. Unity in diversity is cope. Just like the euros did in the eighteenth century we have to unify culturally.

Occitan, Welsh, Bavarian,Basque. Beneath every nation state you will find areas like this there as here. But they made their minorities speak the majority's tongue.

With Bengali you can even see Pakis gave in(and prior to them doing so there was nothing remotely similar to a civil war happening). War began when they imprisoned mujib. Bhangideshis use it as propaganda to psyop Bengali Hindus, they themselves don't give a flying frick about the language. They have been constantly changing words to Urdu ones(akash vs asman for example).
