Context: Grade 10 schoolgirl scored the highest marks in the state-wide annual school exams. She went viral because she's very hairy and her parents and her don't seem to care about her appearance. They should have at least given her a shave/wax to make her presentable before publishing her photo or appearing on TV. Why even print the photo or appear in an interview if you only wanted people to celebrate her achievement? literally all cosmetic startups are just that, even 90% of the electronics are the same, like boat, mivi or what ever they are called. I bought a hair conditioner from their store which is some 799 because I had a coupon for 150. Its not even worth 150, it lasted for 5 usages and the bottle is half empty from the beginning

With headphones people are a bit more picky but for the range of 500-2000 of electronic products, I wonder sometimes how easy just importing from alibaba and selling on amazon would be. I've compared margins on some products, its usually 200%+ range if you take rates for largest bulk orders. Would have to keep a warehouse in a city with good rail and air connectivity and probably spend some more in promoting your stuff but if you could capture the top search slot in a few products its basically free money.

An uncle I know does this with medical equipment, there are fairs that happen in bombay frequently where the chinks come advertise their products, I went to one with him long back. you can buy their show pieces at the end of the fair and also strike deals with them then and there. He mostly imported monitoring equipment, rebadged them and sold.

There's this low vision aid my father uses, costs around 1.2 lakh now. Mutt company, one licensed dealer in all of eastern India. People coming from all of NE, Orissa, Bihar to this guy. Small 100 sq ft stall kept exactly like typical stalls were in early 2000s, packages stacked everywhere. Just something you'd expect from at typical corner spectacle shop, not someone dealing in those volumes of a product that expensive. Like we waited for 40 min, he made 3 sales in that time. Even if its just 10% commission that's 30k cleared in half an hour. Probably pays 20k/mo in rent if that for the storefront. The owner himself can't even talk about the product he has to wait for an employee to come. Hands out appointments like some self important doctor instead of the salesman he is.
There's a lot of money in being a middleman, probably the best. Who knows how he got the gig. But the products have to be tailored to individual reccs so unless you're willing to fly there, you have no choice but to go through him. Or go to Delhi or smth.

my grandfathers hearing aid is the same, small store tucked away in some apartment c*m commercial complex. 2 small rooms used as reception and doc cabin. these are imported hearing aids, expensive as frick and also heavily customized for the user
