ascent of Telugu industry

It's been a slow and painful journey. There was a time during 2000s it was nothing but absolute dreck.

I think millennials finally getting the reigns changed it up a bit.

Your migrant community def helped with funding too, movies like Bahubali are just so far beyond scale at which regional cinema thought. I think Bahubali was first movie that made a lot of theaters consider airing a Telugu movie lol. Simultaneous hindi dub releases should be standard for all major releases in regional cinema from now on but the r-slurs in Bengali industry know they can't compete outside their captive audience anyway. :marseysad: Last time I watched a local movie was probably 4 or 5 years back, its gotten so bad.

Generally its so little effort to dub in another language and release I don't know why its not more common in India, not like regional cinema anywhere is voluminous enough to keep Hindi out. Hindi could have taken over a lot of regional cinemas too if it started dubbing in other languages. Stuff like bhojpuri industry should be wiped out, bhojpuris ideally should be wiped out.

Yeah, Telugu diaspora abroad is a massive audience. When I first moved to the US I had to drive like 2 hours to find a theater that showed a Telugu movie.

Now you can find all sorts of Indian movies at regular theater chains.

Within the following days, I spent a lot of time at the park, watching the wind blow through the trees and the children playing in the fields. I questioned the very fabric of reality. Why did this all exist? I wondered. How did life come to be? What was the nature of reality? What was my place in all of it? There was no point to my life anymore. I was never going to lose my virginity. I was never going to get a girlfriend. Because girls are repulsed by me, I was never going to have children and pass on my genes. The only way that I could have been worthy enough to beautiful girls is if I become wealthy at a young age.
