I clean my house before my cleaner comes. My excuse is that the tidier the house, the more time she can dedicate to deep cleaning. But it’s more so that my cleaning lady can see how clean I keep my place. The mental games we play are so unnecessary and tiring. 😟

it's so annoying to go to someone's house and everything is spotlessly clean and you know they spent the past few hours making it so
I don't give a shit about being able to see my reflection in the bathroom tiles and now I feel awkward about having indirectly caused you to do that

What's really great is when someone is a combination of a hoarder and needing everything to be spotless for guests. So they panic and spend 8 hours pushing stuff into closets where it's hidden. And then they can never find it again so they buy more shit to fill the house up with.
