My experience is the worst of my brothers from the subcontinent are the upper class North Indians. Extremely racist and narcissistic.
Panjabis are the best, but I generally get along with anyone from Paki land to Bengal land but when you get to the south and the average name starts trending towards "Gavankar" that is where i don't get along the most. The only time I ever visited New York I was in Central Park getting Dosa and this little Tamil fricker starts talking in this weird snake tongue like half Japanese half Brahui a million miles so I stop him and say "English, please" and he keeps on making threatening gestures, so I called him madarchod and kicked over his cart before running away. Dosas taste like shit anyways.

The Nehrus never did anything for us, which lead directly to the destruction of our temple in the '80s. That was the catalyst that made my father flee India along with my mom (I was born in 1999)
In India we aren't protected. In Pakistan we aren't either but pakis at least those that I have hung out with don't generally treat us badly I get way more racism from other North Indians online. Especially Hindu zealots. But I don't hate Hindus. Brahma is cool I guess. I trolled my family once pretending to be Hindu.

Yes genociding every member of a community is generally a full proof way to ensure positive communal relations in the future since there will be no cause of friction. For example why Israel doesn't have issues with Arabs over what happens in pre 1967 Israel

The old state media worked very hard to not create communal hatred, even after Indira's assassination news of two Sikh units mutinying was suppressed and media kept parroting unity in diversity line. That's why despite 1984 bhaichara continued, just as bhaichara continued with Ms post partition. Modern info environment is no longer the same. Every fault line opened up now will only grow. Many Sikhs(most of you don't get to migrate after all) will suffer because of this hostility. Much more than our people.
