Ours had gone extinct in the 50s, Kuno was being prepped for second lion park but that won't happen as long as mahamanav is in power. Low key think he pushed african cheetahs here so kuno is removed from that list entirely, its strongest contender after all. They do coexist but I doubt game pop there could support groups of both.
I'd have loved it if we did a swap of our lions with Iran's cheetahs. And if Iranians could be trusted to restore lions.

80% of upper middle class and 100% of foreigner Gujarat tourists are there for Gir. Kuno would be just a 5 hour drive from Jaipur airport, Shivpuri rail station is 60km away and has a daily train from Delhi that takes 6 hours. Most people have to drive 8 hours from Ahd airport to Gir at present. Which do you think will be preferred? On that note I was planning Kuno this Jan and everything else is great but they have zero arrangement for solo trips I'll have to shell out 3k a safari for a full 4 seater if I go alone
I'll stick to Ranthambore, I wish they'd take bookings for solo passengers and pool them together like they do I'd gladly have paid 700-800 range as my share but 3k per is too much. But Ranthambore's just typical Indian forest, can't see shit unless the tigers are feeling exhibitionist. Kuno's proper savannah. Rajasthan should have gotten the area they do tourism well. MP and UP are both useless.

Its esp amazing seeing a lot of the places I read about for so long IRL. I had planned a Mumbai Goa trip, then I was just looking around on maps and saw hampi was nearby. I couldn't avoid going and on way to Hampi I was again scrolling maps and saw Aihole-Pattadakal-Badami complex was also nearby. Had just two days, traveled on gen coaches to the Badami area, spent 40 minutes getting drenched in rain cause I had to get back to train station in time and it was too windy for umbrellas. There's two banner pics here from that trip, Badami caves are seriously underrated there's some beautiful pieces there. I didn't realise how close Ajanta Ellora was to Mumbai too but my Mumbai itinerary was too short to cram it in by time I realised.
