🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈Being a p-dophile is not a crime. You'll have to be specific about what they actually did 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

To be fair I do fricking hate this trend of being as vague as possible about s*x crimes. Reddit is absolutely r-slurred for aggressively insisting that:

  • A 23 year old having s*x with an enthusiastic 17 year old

  • A 35 year old forcibly and violently raping their prepubescent daughter to the point of permanent physical trauma.

Should both be distilled down to the exact same word in news headlines: r*pe. Same goes for people who want to use the exact same word for the actions of both Louis C.K. and Harvey Weinstein.

It ends up diminishing how seriously people take words like r*pe and sexual assault. One time some random girl grabbed my butt while I was in line at a highschool football game. I don't go around calling myself "a survivor of sexual assault". Because I know it's r-slurred to act like my experience deserves the same label as someone like Junko Furuta.

they don't even distill it to the word r*pe any more. they use the words "sexual assault" so you can't even tell what actually happened. it's basically so they can have stolen valor but for getting r*ped. they know if they say "I got sexually assaulted" you can't tell if someone just touched their butt once or if they got r*ped so you have to give them maximum sympathy for what could have been nothing. it drives me nuts because I want to have actual clarity for what I'm reading and not have to play a guessing game. language is supposed to provide clarity not obfuscate it. Yeah well, we've just made every single long-standing term related to s*x and gender completely meaningless, hope it helps :marseywholesome:

They don't even say sexual assault, they just say "SA." It's like how people started saying "CSAM" instead of child pornography; I guess they didn't want to give pornography a bad name.
