Fish and chips are too expensive for poor people. I went into a Chinese in a poor area earlier this year and everyone was ordering noodles, chips and curry sauce, presumably because it's cheaper than buying an actual main like lemon chicken.

I prefer that to fish and chips too but my grandma gets confused if I get something other than fish and chips when I eat with her so I'm stuck with it.
