True, I don't think anything has surpassed boomer rock at this point. Gen x, y, z all have their "moments" but haven't made as much music that's simultaneously listenable and revolutionary.

people do still care about it, and even if they didn't the fact that britain ever sent as many songs to the american charts as vice versa for a decades-long stretch is fricking remarkable.

arm doesn't count because it might as well have come from germany or asia, technology is not an intra-anglophone conflict. I'm not talking about achievements on a global stage but mindshare within an overarching transatlantic culture.
