Principal banned after pupils had s*x on ski trip

Of the 12 pupils attending the trip, "10 had special educational needs, eight were known to be sexually active, seven were known to have substance misuse problems and three had current justice system involvement".

I read the original TRA report because I thought there had to be more to this than 'head gets barred after pupils behave badly on trip', and yeah, the article really buries the lede. At one point she let six pupils go to an underage disco held in a nightclub that sold alcohol, with the only supervision being an apprentice staff member who was under 18 (!!!), not trained in child protection and on bail for weapons offences. The previous day the pupils had already smashed in the door of the hotel kitchen and stolen ten bottles of spirits, and one of them had also turned up drunk on day 1 - I think both of these can be filed under 'shit happens', but I can't fathom the thought process behind sending them to a nightclub supervised only by a literal child afterwards. (Or, yknow, at all.)

One girl was also allegedly filmed having s*x with a boy by a second boy, who then used the video to try and blackmail her into having s*x with him as well. She disclosed it to the teacher - I was going to say 'one of the teachers', but actually he was the only teacher on the whole trip, besides the head herself and the aforementioned teenage apprentice - who said he, quote, "couldn't do much about it from Switzerland" and returned the phone to the alleged blackmailer. None of the pupils' parents/carers or the LADO were informed. Despite his terrible handling of the situation I was feeling quite sorry for this evidently inexperienced teacher who'd been put in an extremely difficult position, until right at the end of the report it's just casually mentioned that he WAS THE DSL.

So yeah, overall I think the adults were very much the ones at fault here.
