This is unironically the truth. If you think about how human reproduction works it's not immediately obvious why there should be a 50/50 split of girls to boys born. It would seem better from a reproduction standpoint to have more girls and less boys. The best answer is that men effectively serve as a way to filter out bad genes. It's the men that don't reproduce that are really driving the evolution of humanity forward . The job of women is to be the judge of male fitness, which they generally do pretty well. Punishing a woman for doing her job and identifying an obvious reject is just harming society.
