Carp is 100% right. I used to run a fairly active forum back in the day and one of the worst decisions I made was agreeing to bring the shoutbox back. It killed thread creation and discussion in general because if you missed it in chat, you probably missed the discussion all together.
Add in a country club chatbox though if you really want to kill this place.

The multiline shit is too much. Also the pfp being big means less screen real estate. I'm on desktop and it's impossible to read but maybe it being so new, people are excited and it'll calm down. Great feature, I can't join groomercord cuz I need a phone number for some reason but was looking for a way to chat with dramanauts. carp friend, just my viewpoint. Chat is r-slurred, but not a replacement for the site in the same way the dramacords or telegrams aren't a threat to the site or the sub. It's just a fundamentally different format; even on KF it's mostly a distraction and at best a way to talk shit about Josh when he streams. I don't think it's the great feature some users think it would be and it's not the site destroying thing you reportedly predicted. Not to be mean, but 95+% of users don't even know how to find holes, much less find the chat feature and then disengage with the normal site.
That being said, it makes a lot more sense for ip2 r-slurs, so I must praise
