If you own a Hole and do not want dc, but want the Hole to continue to exist, I would suggest starting to use it. User-created actively harm the site and shouldn’t exist in the first place. We let them ride for a bit to see if the userbase would do anything interesting with them against expectations and they haven’t, as predicted, so now they’re being removed. Active ones are being kept around, though, because it would be rude to delete them.

Exactly how long does a hole needs to be "Inactive" for it to be purged? As much as I'm attached to the ones I own I don't know if they deserve to survive.
