How is it possible for animals that evolved in cooler climates to not instinctively understand ice? Checkmate, atheists.

Domestic cats are descended from Middle Eastern desert cats

I've always found this questionable since so many have coats adapted for temperate forest environments, blending in with dead leaves. And how in medieval Europe would you stop your pet from fricking feral cats coming out of the woods?

They did but they are still mostly middle eastern (it's like latinx) :marseyhomofascist:

Domestic cats with thick coats were bred that way, I’m pretty sure. They didn’t adapt to those environments.

But why are they so similar to European wildcats then?

I dunno, that's entirely possible but it seems less likely to me. I know enough to have formed an opinion on this but not nearly enough to know if it's right, so I'm just gonna dig in my heels.

A feral marsey is more likely to eat a domestic marsey than frick it.

But they are supposed to live in your barn and kill vermin all winter not fish on the ice like a polar bear (but that would be cool as heck to have a Marsey that wrangle pike through a hole like a it's a seal)

I dunno every cat I've had liked salmon & beef so I'm pretty sure they're supposed to be apex predators who roamed the wilds killing elk and elephants at will.
