Even for a company as large as it is, the cost has become crushing, he says.

It has to pay a recruitment company, visa fees, housing workers, pay for meals, and transportation.

Unless something changes soon, he says, "berries are going to become an item that's going to be a luxury, not something people buy every time they go to the grocery store like they do now."

GOOD

FRICK breeding berries into worse varieties and doing weird alchemy to them so just that they can be shipped when anyone who owns or rents unfrozen dirt can make thousands of berries easily

It's not difficult like growing fruit trees and your tree gets diseased and dies or produces nothing unless you know how to trim them and slather them with medicine and antifunguals :parrotscience: :marseyretardnotes: :marseytree:

Berries are like:

Stick raspberry plant in the ground -> oh shit i forgot to water it -> 100 raspberries instead of 1000 -> raspberry cane spreads -> it rains a lot -> 10,000 raspberries -> bribe local children to pick them -> freeze and/or jelly them

strawberries and blueberries are only slightly "difficult", around the difficulty of growing tomatoes (but honestly I think tomatos get more pests...) but unlike tomatos they come back every year, often stronger than before

Why ship berries across four states :derpwhy: ????
