Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’”
40 “As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. 41 The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. 42 They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear. - Matthew 13
I think I've become so contrariarian that I've looped back to being a Christian

I was getting drunk watching documentaries on ancient Rome when I got into reading the bible again.
That said, I'm going to Vatican City for the first time in a few weeks. If you have any other Rome sightseeing suggestions let me know

Dramatard did a full circle and became a redditor

I mean we were all redditors… I would just like to sit down and hear a sermon with people that have read and comprehend the Bible. The way churches encourage people to read passages out of order week to week in Sunday school almost ensures no one actually reads the whole thing, certainly not cover to cover. It’s all agenda driven. Jesus didn’t have a church. Churches are the political parties of religion

I stopped going to church years ago for this reason. I just read the bible in my own time now.

We need a church for disaffected and cynical millennials to put Christianity into the Space Age.
Boomers languished with megachurches promising them they'll heal sickness and gain riches if they gave some slimy televangelist half of their paycheck
The other half of christcucks are at least smart enough to not fall for that, but still so suffocated by modern economics theyre just struggling to keep their daughters off onlyfans, their sons off groomercord, and a roof over their heads

I’ve been to the Vatican. I saw the previous pope address the cardinals the first time. I feel this is an uphill battle. The Vatican has all the Bible OC and all the sauce that supports it. If the Vatican is not on our side, our side isn’t really relevant. Especially when the Protestants are being bigger cucks. I’d have to drive hours for an orthodox church

I still think Bible OC isnt meant to be so literal, rather metaphorical and to be translated to modern times and circumstances.
Cathcucks have a kino aesthetic but they've done nothing but cater to Western economic imperialism for the past like 500 years. Even the Angloid/Prot offshoots did much of the same.

I’d just prefer my religion open source the source material they didn’t use and were transparent on the reasons. God sent his only son to save us so the Vatican can spin their version of it? I’m generally fine with what’s in the Bible. I’m less fond of the organized religions it’s spawned. I’d like to read other gospels and know the reasons they aren’t seen as the word of God, despite some being included in the word of God in the past.

Actually agree. As reddit as it sounds, my early agnosticism was spurred by "The DaVinci Code" and how it looked into the books not included in the Bible.
Though much of humanity was r-slurred and not even literate during those times, so the upper classes chose to impart the truth they chose (which coincidentally benefited them )
Open source all the texts and let the ChristHub make PRs for what gets published lol, but actually

I feel the same, like Noah's ark was supposed to be a parable imo but almost every Christian I've talked things it actually happened, exactly the way as written which seems pretty crazy

I have heard the 2 St. Elias Orthodox churches and Saint Mary Orthodox Church (less approachable than the St. Elias Churches) are nice to visit.
If you are specifically looking for Greek the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church is well liked, though it isn't as personal and small scale as the others I listed. I've heard the festival they host is quite enjoyable (https://austingreekfestival.com/)

Different types of Orthodox churches usually correlate to what ethnicity is the primary demographic. For example an Ethiopian Orthodox church isn't going to have a single white person lol.
From what I've heard Orthodox is very strict with adhering to tradition, so if that's what you are looking for it's great. If you like Catholic church because of it's more Western style you aren't going to like Orthodox churches for the most part.
I would say if you are going to one of those 4 churches pick based on what size church community you want. Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church is pretty big and has a large community, where as a place like Saint Mary Orthodox Church is super small and tight-knit, with the 2 St. Elias Orthodox churches being an in-between.
Also don't go to an Orthodox church if you are gay or strongly support gay marriage, they tend to be pretty firm that gay marriages are immoral. It's the single biggest reason a bunch of people I know have no interest in going to one.

I legit haven't been to church since 2012. I grew up a mix of Anglican, Baptist, and non denominational so my compass is all fricked.
Legit if I'm sober in the morning I might throw on a collared shirt and go to church lol
Or I'll just play the Street Fighter 6 demo and watch more Ukranian war footage. Nothing means anything anymore
