He is having mercy on trans kids. Far more than anyone who thinks encouraging their delusions and removing parts of their bodies is helping them.

Just finished reading a book from the 50s where a side-character, a bishop, is relentlessly mocked for only supporting the worst criminals for forgiveness, ignoring their crimes, and the worse they are the more likely he is to support them. It was a mockery of current progressives in a nutshell, including treating it as the other side of the coin of sensationalist tabloids cynically appealing to base human emotions for a profit.

You can make bits of the Bible mean anything you want if you take them completely out of context. For example:

2 Kings 2:23-24

"He went up from there to Bethel, and while he was going up on the way, some small boys came out of the city and jeered at him, saying, "Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!" ...and he cursed them in the name of the Lord. Then two female bears came out of the woods and tore forty-two of the boys."

Without any context, or knowledge of the Bible, imagine what you could make of that.
