"Lyla" eats candy all the time and Skittles are her favourite? Given that they are pure sugar, "Mary" doesn't have to worry - "Lyla" will be diabetic before you know it, and then Mom can spend all her time helping her figure out her insulin dose, instead of being a b-word to the foster daughter.
Yeah, she is the butthole. Kids do dumb crap, but she is definitely treating the foster kid differently to her biological daughter.
