Hitler was never elected to anything. He was appointed chancellor by Paul von Hindenburg and, after the Reichstag fire, he used special emergency powers to make himself dictator. Trump did attempt a Hitler-style takeover with January 6th, but, obviously, it failed, which is why he and others in the authoritarian right have since shifted to the Viktor Orban method of attaining a fascist dictatorship, i.e. using democratic institutions to slowly and subtly erode democracy over time. The main difference, of course, is that Adolf Hitler and Viktor Orban were/are both sincere ideologues who both possess(ed) some degree of intelligence and skill, whereas Trump is just a worthless real estate con man who doesn't actually care about anything other than enriching himself.

The World Book Encyclopedia indicates that the consensus among historians is that the Nazis planned the Reichstag fire. And, while we may never know for sure, that seems to be very likely.

Do you have a passage because I read/listen to a lot of history stuff and Historians don't normally even question that the communist did it. Internal communications suggest Nazi's were surprised but were very opportunistic.

And to the original topic: if Hitler did start it he didn't get caught and obviously made in attempt to hide that he did it.
If J6 was a reichstag moment in the world were Hitler planned it, that would suggest the Dems/beaurocrats planned it because they used this event to gain power. Again, still a nonsense comparison often tauted by historical illiterates
