The European Union while stagnant continues to grow stronger over time

The Schengen zone expanded recently.

The EU continues to integrate further.

East Europe continues to prosper and support the aging western part of the European Union.

Their energy projects in North Africa have been a success.

They will have new member states by the end of 2030.

They remain the third largest economy in the world.

They have been able to hold off Russia in Ukraine.

They have been able to keep funding Ukraine and grow its economy even during war time.

Their population continues to grow.

They have succeeded in stopping the inflow of refugees from the middle east.

They have normalized relations with Turkey.

They have managed to divest from Russia without collapsing.

The UK left the EU and has been worse off economically for it.

Muslims make up less than 10% of the population of the EU and would remain at that number in the future.

The primary remaining challenges for the EU are:

1. Bringing Hungary fully into the fold and making it obey.

2. Breaking Belarus off from Russia.

3. Bringing Serbia back towards the EU away from China.

4. Maintaining population growth without increasing share of Muslim population in Europe.

In conclusion:

The European Union is doing good for itself. The UK will over time be forced to rejoin the EU. The EU continues to integrate further internally while expanding its borders externally.

Future of EU:

EU will expand further. One day even Turkey will be part of the EU. EU will still be there when Russia falls. EU will develop North Africa. EU will remain the second largest economy in the world in the long run by constantly adding new members. EU will shift to a three tier system in the near future, core members, non-core members, candidate members.
