Coincidentally, I just returned from Austria and everyone there assumes I'm Dutch because that's the only nationality they're used to encountering who can speak half-decent German.

I am pretty sure they simply think the USA is just SO INCREDIBLY GREAT, that everyone still will come. They think there is simply no better option in the world.

While i will visit greece this year and japan next year, totaly happy.

Good thing Japan doesn't have any issues with superiority, racism, or mistreatment of foreign nationals.

Thats the thing people don't understand. I lived in Japan for 5 years and the amount of racism there is unreal. Crossing arms in an X as you try to walk into their store only to say "Japanese onry". Weebs have imagined Japan as some magical land. Its a country full of shy spergs's who hate all non Japs.

They also don't realize that being detained without due process (by western standards) and essentially tortured until you confess to whatever crime they decide they want you to have committed, then thrown on a deportation flight is actually a relatively good outcome for foreign 'undesirables' in Japan.
