Some people who had already hit rock bottom by being "bronies" got an excavator and kept digging.

IIRC some bronies started drawing My Little Pony characters as a rat-sized pet mini horses in terrariums, dubbed them "fluffy ponies," and it spiralled into an online subculture that 99% revolves around stories and pictures about a world in which the fluffy ponies are pets getting tortured and killed by animal abusers.

It's like the incomprehensibly psycho online "monkey abuse" rings but directed at fictional creatures. :darkwhy:
