:marseycringe: It may be time to revisit a dietician and discuss quantity of food. That’s a LOT of sugar and calories, holy crap. You need to replace at least half of that with veggies and probably slash calories. 3-4 bananas is like 300-400 calories minimum. Plus the dried fruit is 500-600 (we will assume you’re accurately saying a couple as in two hundred). Add the mangoes and you’re at 11-1200 calories JUST IN FRUIT. At 5’1” (32f) and someone who actively is on my feet all day every day but doesn’t work out, that’s almost as many calories as I consume in an entire day. Period. At 6’2” (34m) it’s about half what he eats in a day, so waaaaay more fruit and sugar than even he needs. We are both decently healthy, not overweight but not skinny/fit. We eat about half our calories in fruits/veggies, and are gluten free (celiac house). We eat out once a week to two weeks with our kids at in n out or something but that’s it. Other than that we eat pretty normal.

Which is fine because they also have a lot of fiber. Get your macros right and then just eat slowly enough that you're not blowing past your natural satiated feeling and the calories will follow. If you're neurodivergent you can count them too but it's almost always totally unnecessary if you just avoid eating garbage.

I know a girl who eats “healthy” by buying premade caesar salads from grocery stores. I think iceberg lettuce is the only vegetable she eats. She only consumes carbs otherwise. One huge thing is sugar. A lot of fat people fricking drink sugar constantly. Replace all sodas with water, or seltzer if you need your bubbles.

People suck at actually counting calories, and others subconsciously try to cheat the diet by undercounting their calories, which makes them give up when they don’t get where they want.

There's good science out now, that shows that not all calories are created equal, so the calories in/calories out theory is actually no longer valid. I have athyroid disorder and can count calories all I want, but unless I'm eating the right foods for me, I can calorie deficit for a year, run every day and not lose weight.
