I think once you lose enough you can get the weirdly remaining fat removed / skin fixed up so you only look 20% like a flesh golem

I have seen a woman who had this surgery. She had gone all the way down to actually-fit/hot looking and got the skin removed plus probably some lipo, and that was HOT. Like, if you learned about your nascent fetishes from The Bride of Frankenstien, this was AMAZING.

There's definitely a lot of irreparable damage but the excess skin might actually be helping to hide it. Give it about a decade and the excess skin will fix itself and then we'll see just what is actually ruined.

That skin will absolutely not fix itself. Skin is pretty resilient but it can be stretched beyond it's ability to recontract. The only way she'll be able to get rid of it is surgery.

Don't underestimate cosmetic surgery. Once you lose the majority of the weight, they can trim the excess skin and fat.
