40ish year old American here. I'm an avid cyclist. Never got a license, and I don't own a car. I ride my bike or walk to/from work, groceries, etc everyday. Guess what? Im still fat.

lol someone needs a longer commute to the fridge

I think my dad has had trouble biking because of his weight before. American bikes just aren't made support so much weight comfortably

lmao what country other than America would build bikes for fat people.

They could give the fatty bike a stronger chassis. This would be heavy, so maybe a motor to take over from the fatty. Fatties don't have good balance, so maybe it should have 4 wheels for improved stability. The fattie's extra insulation means they melt in the heat, so maybe an aircon should be installed. For aircon to work, it should have glass and some doors.

Hmm… reminds me of another vehicle?

Maybe we can add a crane to unload and load the fatties.

They have eight Chinese children stand on it to make sure it can withstand the average American.

Someone linked to this in the comments. It's not enough for us to just acknowledge the existence of fat people and pretend they're healthy, now we have to pretend that they're fitter than skinny people?

Where is this magical land full of morbidly obese cyclists? It's definitely not Amsterdam or the Nordics because they're all skinny.

EDIT: shut it down

Lazy is also a weaponised word. It's pushed by capitalism to shame rest and disability

I hate fatties so fricking much. Not because I'm a bad person: it's just capitalism's fault I feel that way :marseyshrug:

Ouch bone spurs must really hurt, I wonder what helps fix -

If you are overweight and have osteoarthritis of the hips or knees, weight loss may help ease bone spur pain. Even a small amount of weight loss may help.

Exercise can help people lose extra weight. It also can make muscles around joints stronger. Types of exercise that can help include walking, biking and swimming.

Wrong, eating a bunch of comfort food must help better because it makes you feel good :marseysatisfied:

I'm a quite a bit older now but I walk and run everywhere so people are usually surprised when I just jump over fences or down from a ledge like I'm 15.

That whole comment chain is ridiculous, two Redditors doubling down on their medical problems (all weight related) for half a dozen comments.

Each comment starts "Yep" then reels off a bunch of their own medical issues, they're clearly not reading each other's comments.
