I read some comments about the audio being out of sync in this video, dunno if it's true but it might explain some of the odd behaviour

The first 3 seconds seem like they line up pretty well. So does the first gunshot. You can see him flinch and backoff a bit after the first gunshot but maybe she just pushed him there?
Regardless he keeps talking normally in the audio after the gunshots. And definitely continues reaching after at least one shot.
