I read some comments about the audio being out of sync in this video, dunno if it's true but it might explain some of the odd behaviour

The first 3 seconds seem like they line up pretty well. So does the first gunshot. You can see him flinch and backoff a bit after the first gunshot but maybe she just pushed him there? :marseyshrug:

Regardless he keeps talking normally in the audio after the gunshots. And definitely continues reaching after at least one shot.
