Doesn't have a significant effect til like 50 though. And the ones with defects are too damaged to find the egg.

I dunno, I knew a really lovely couple but they had a big age gap. The chick was 28 and the guy was 45 and they had two kids in a row with Down syndrome. I think it’s not too dangerous if you do genetic testing and stuff but ime it’s not smart to have kids when you’re older, regardless of s*x. Eugenics :marseyreich:

Yeah. The parents are both Mormons so they take real good care of the kids but it’ll get harder as they get older and you can’t lift them up anymore. :marseysad:

do mormons have rules against medical stuff like some religions? we don't really have mormons here. curious if they were allowed to do testing beforehand to check for birth defects

being mormon means they wouldn't be allowed to abort it anyway but it would be an extra anxiety inducing 9 months if you know your kid is probably going to struggle so bad their whole lives and then die at an early age :marseydepressed:

Two adult lifetimes ruined is nothing compared to spending eternity (x4) in Heaven! 😇

I think they just didn’t know it was an option. I’m p sure there’s no rule against it

yup, about 30% higher risks -- https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7803514/

interestingly for some defects this also seems to apply to sperm from young fathers (under 20).
