That's because our military is so slow to adopt new technologies. One really well-designed aquatic robot could absolutely push in the shit of the entire Chinese navy, and the best part of battleships being "lost at sea" is that there's a ton of plausible deniability. How are we to blame if Chinese battleships are so shittily made that they keep on sinking with all hands lost? Must be another day ending in Y...
Sadly, most of our top brass and politicians are wimps who are afraid to engage or even recognize the CCP as our enemy, despite the fact that they are literally working on ethnic cleansing bioweapons. We really need to get some more bloodthirst in our military or we're going to lose the coming conflict with China simply because we're too whipped to even fight it properly.
That's why I don't give a shit about how Admiral Mom Jeans looks as long as she's willing to enthusiastically terminate Chinese targets of opportunity
