He clearly doesn't understand your life experience or, most likely, doesn't want to! He sees you as privileged and secretly despises you for it. Well, it's not so secret anymore! 🙊

And you still call him your “best (male) friend”??
Sis, treat people according to the way they treat you!
I always tell my own family and friends when they come to me with stuff like this:
”Just because you're friends with everybody, doesn't mean everybody is your friend.”
Just because you're his best friend, doesn't mean he's your best (male) friend! And he's not with the way he sees you, gaslit you and diminished a real issue for you!
Time to cut him out of your life or seriously downgrade him from “best (male) friend” to “someone I used to know” or “acquaintance”. IJS.
