Unfortunately I understand concepts like not owning a car if you're an alcoholic. This has severely limited my ability to pull off totally fricking awesome moves like this.
Drunk drivers are unironically the most protected class in our society. In Oregon there's some rule where your first DUI is kept secret. Any other alleged misdemeanor even if you don't get convicted? Allegedly get caught with a speck of meth, get in a fight, argue with your girlfriend too loud, shoplift a can of beer, that is on your record for life. But there's a special law to protect drunk drivers' reputations.

I knew this guy, he was on like his 5th DUI. Really fun guy to hang out with. But he decided to take a whole bunch of xanax and then drunk drive again. The look on his face when he got sentenced.
Neighbor pls, eventually you have to stop doing this shit. (It was 6 months prison upstate IIRC.)
Between semesters of college, I worked at a place that mostly hired ex-cons because they'd work for cheap, and they hired a lot of drunk drivers because they were non-violent. Every single one had double-digit DUI's and none of them had any intention of stopping. I'm not sure if I should be disgusted or admire their perseverance.
This is the one that always gets me. He's gonna crash a car into us at 70mph and kill my children but at least when he does it it's "nonviolent" because.... uhhh... the media says so.
"Non-violent" in the sense that they probably weren't going to pull a knife on someone else on the jobsite. The owners didn't really care about that other stuff as long as you showed up for your shift and looked busy.

She did more than just crash her car! She took out a row of cars at 4:40am. Two previous DUIs and all she gets is a 40 month driving ban?

I think it should depend on if your DUI resulted in an accident.
If you can hold your liquor and still drive safe, why should you be punished?

I like Doug Stanhope's idea where you should get to take your driver's exam drunk and if you pass, that's the BAC you're legally allowed to drive at.

It must have been pretty bad after her first two DUIs already! Even with a clean record then being 26 and driving an Audi will bump up your insurance.
