It's unfortunate that women are smart enough to have their own AA meetings because I would be breaking up 20 marriages a week if they were in my group. :marseysad:

Get so consistently fricked up for a long time that you can't be sober without sweating and shaking so bad that strangers walk up to you and ask if you need an ambulance. :marseyjam:

Do you actually get the shakes? I used to get the sweats years ago (actual years, not boozer years) when I was an all day erryday boozer, but they were hard to distinguish from the fact that I'd naturally sweat in an igloo in Alaska, so it didn't stand out to anyone as unusual.

It's a real phenomenon. It's been said that for some people, there's been days where they're trying to cut back and they can't shave because they can't hold the razor.

I have a mild tremor from birth, so my hands shake slightly even if I've been sober for a year. Drinking a ton and then stopping suddenly definitely makes it worse, but not to a noticeable degree or anything. It's possible I'm just better adapted to hiding it than someone that didn't experience it until they started drinking though.

Back in my boozing days my hands would get a little shakey but mostly anytime i was sober id get super jittery and paranoid. And id sweat through my shirt.

Ah the good old days :boomermonster:

I was under the impression that dating within AA is super duper turbo mega against the rules

Which makes sense from a VuLnErAbLe fOiDs standpoint but at the same time seems like it would be the only non-awkward and most reliable way to find a partner that is equally self-banned from drinking :/

Lol what are they gonna do when they find out? Kick you out? Oh no, now you can start drinking again and meet cool people :marseycool2:

Yeah that's what I was referring to.

There is a good reason for this. Relationships between addicts are not always helpful. If you're used to interacting with people when you're drunk, that becomes a pattern that's really hard to break away from. When you get two people who are both like that together, it's even harder.

I mean ffs the entire time I've been on rDrama it's been me being drunk interacting with drunk people and see where that's gotten me.

You have to engage with me on a deeper level if you want to beg. Like have a conversation about some obscure saint venerated in medieval times. :marseysmughipskorean:
