Potatoes are great. Boil em, mash em, roast em, stick em in a stew. Some potatoes also have edible skin high in nutrients.

A nice meatloaf with ground beef and maybe lentils and some breadcrumbs as filler would make a better entree than a fricking pile of bacon and be more filling too.
