One thing I never understood is describing a pizza as a "pie". A pie has fillings, pizza has stuff on top.

Maybe my pizza horizons are too restrictive.

It's parochial anglo american nonsense, they couldn't concieve of a pizza so they had to tack on 'pie' to make sense of it despite it not being filled and using a different dough altogether.
