Groomermisia & blatant Petersonphobia on r/TrueUnpopularOpinion - "'Making the bed' is pointless"

OP post, look at this lazy piece of shit:

Why do I have to waste time arranging my blankets and pillows in the morning? It doesn't make my life easier in any way; it's just another chore, however easy it may be. I've never understood why people get so neurotic over having their bed made and having all their blankets folded in just the right way. If you wanna do it, go ahead, it doesn't bother anyone. But I've heard people talk down on people that don't make their bed as if they're unclean or lazy. I just don't feel the need to, because it doesn't affect my life whatsoever.

Petersonite :marseypeterson: sets him straight, ugly unkemptbedcel strikes back:

It takes like 30 seconds and shows that you have pride in your space. Good habits fuel good habits, so making your bed and pairing that activity with other helpful activities can make you more productive and content in the morning.

“Pride in your space” lol, like literally, who cares? I don't personally define my space by whether the bed is made, particularly when I usually only go to my bedroom to sleep. I care about cleanliness, but presentation of the bed is meaningless unless I am having guests over.

Actually, leaving my bed unmade is why I don't have any mold. mites or bedbugs :marseybug: in my sheets so it's actually a bad habit:

Not only is it pointless, it traps the moisture from sweating in your mattress, making it that much more likely to end up moldy. Letting that air out seems like a better idea to me.

Making the bed every morning traps in moisture and makes a perfect breeding ground for bedbugs

Don't forget that making your bed is good for feeling slutty :marseyfans:, a good note to keep in mind for rdrama incels looking to get laid and rdrama foids looking to keep their self-esteem cyclin' in that BPD sort of way we all know and love:

It's because after a long day, climbing into a made bed is just sluttiest best feeling like hnnmgggg

Most comments seem to miss the point that it's really about groomer aesthetics, but doing something good for the wrong reasons is usually still good enough. So, remember, make your beds dramanauts.

My blanket feels better in the evening when I make my bed. Don't know why and I'm 99% sure it's not just a mental thing, something about leaving it uncrumpled all day makes it better or something.

Also that whole moisture thing sounds like total BS or a reach from some random study redditors read years ago and now parrot everywhere.

You shake it (i hope) so the filling gets aerated and instead of trapping the moisture you air out the BO and farts of last night.

Seems like it stays softer or something. Also will be generally cleaner I'd think. And no way that makes a difference unless you're literally sweating buckets every night
