I don't know if I'm bougie or basic but I only buy Chanel makeup lol. I don't wear eye shadow unless I'm going to a nice dinner. I'm just some Chanel powder/foundation in one, little blush, mascara, and lip gloss.
When I go all out is when I need to shop for a trip, and then it's a $5k bill. Luckily I don't shop too much!

chanel shadows are so pretty and they look like they have that gorgeous baked formula but it always throws me for a loop that luxury brands hold on so hard to those sponge applicators

yeah I think that's and old style thing. I've been using Chanel since my 20s because I found that everything else I tried gave me acne. :(
