Same. I always thought it was a pretty hot look tbh (wasn't friends with that crowd really tho so never got much of a chance), but seemed like a ridiculous amount of effort put into it.
Lol yep, the guys they'd hang around with I especially didn't like back then. Always attention whoring anywhere I saw them, guess the girls did too but that didn't bother me as much
guess the girls did too but that didn't bother me as much
Lmao same and we both know why
There was girl I'd sit next to on the bus ride home and she was super cool, had a vampire thing with movie level fangs and neon yellow contacts that changed the shape of her pupils every day. And there was one guy in a few of my classes that I'd sit with who was funny enough for the attention whoring to be charming. But every other one i talked to was just insufferable
Our dress code was just a polo in one of our school colors and khakis or black jeans. Outside of that anything goes. I usually just wore basketball shorts and a plain tshirt and none of my teachers cared just because i was polite and got good grades
That's more strict and less strict than mine was, lol. Nothing "disruptive" would've been allowed (vampire fangs/weird colored contacts would fall under this for sure), but we wear shorts and any shirt pretty much as long as it covered your body. I was a pretty good kid but don't think I could've gotten away with gym shorts. Most of the rules were aimed at girls, really. No shorts too short or spaghetti straps IIRC were the big ones. Or too holey jeans. They would enforce it, too. If you didn't have a change of clothes they'd make you wear some jumpsuit thing, was pretty funny tbh.

Lmao, mine would just give you isd pr whatever the acronym was. The only time i ever got reprimanded for uniform was because i came dressed for pe, my first class and had the actual uniform in my backpack.
They stopped me when i was trying to walk in because they were cracking down that day and got put in a room with a bunch of other kids not wearing the uniform. We were getting lectured by the vice principal and i raised my hand and was like, "can you please call my parents so they can cuss you out and call you an r-slur?" He didn't like that but nothing happened to me because he knew that's exactly how the call would go down, lmao

I remember looking at scene kids in high school and thinking to myself, "what time do these strags wake up every morning?"

Same, i was attracted to the look too but i hated the subculture and found them annoying to talk to, being a judgemental teenager and metalhead
