Today was a community day for Pokémon Go. There's a feature where you can use AR to take a picture of a Pokémon for a bonus spawn, and I've also encountered some areas where my phone only registers me as being close to a Pokestop if I point my phone at certain way. :pikachu:

Is there a Pokémon Go gym nearby? Parks are popular areas for this digital game, and one way to interact is to scan the area where the gym is with your camera. I'm glad you trusted your gut and are alert, good work mama. :marseymario:

They were probably playing Pokémon go.

This one ☝🏿 is from /u/danceswithpibbles :marseytrans:

2pm-5pm everywhere, there was the once-a-month "Community Day" that you get bonuses for snapping a quick pic with your Pokemon. Requires you to have your phone up and taking a pic.

It's super awkward to do, I personally hate it, in case anyone is staring at me thinking I'm a kidnapper or something because I'm out playing a game that specifically tries to make you go out to your local parks and play and walk your neighborhoods.

I'm just glad I have my kids with me when we're all playing, I feel bad for people playing solo and apparently seem super shady while playing a mobile phone game.

>yeah it's creepy and I feel like a predator doing it but I'm sure this random dude was just trying to catch pokemon too so it's ok :carpmagikarp:

The comments become much more reasonable after that, politely calling OP an idiot for worrying about worrying, but they get far less engagement.

What do you think rDrama?

Reminds me of the time my husband and I were sitting outside the Air and Space Museum in DC. He noticed a man pointing his camera at a bunch of teenage girls. Me (being non-confrontational and assuming everyone is good person) said he was probably just scrolling through the pictures he had taken and his camera just happened to be pointed at the girls. My husband was still like NOPE so he approached the girls and asked if they knew the guy and told them he thought he was taking pics of them. The girls, of course, did not know the guy and got freaked out so they started to walk back to the museum to presumably meet up with parents/chaperones. Home dude with the camera stood up AND STARTED FOLLOWING THEM back to the museum so my husband promptly notified security. They stopped him on the sidewalk and asked to see his camera which indeed had pictures of unsuspecting teenage girls.

Please don't gaslamp yourself, there are creepy people out there.
