I recently started rewatching this, I hadn't seen it since like 2012 and this shit still holds up to pop-dramas today.
I know the ending was annoying for a lot of people and the time travel stuff was weird but the scope of the show and the mystery of the lead up is hard to beat. I had forgot most of the smaller details going into the show and rewatching actually made me interested in the answers for the stuff hinted at in the earlier seasons. Are there any more modern shows that have the same type of feel, like the mystery suspense drama but actually done well?

Raised by Wolves had a similar vibe.
Unfortunately it got cancelled by HBO after two seasons, so who knows what was going to happen (I assume the execs read the ending and figured it would be shit like Lost).
It was a unique and perplexing story for as long as it lasted though, I was at least interested in seeing where they were going with it.
The show runners apparently have the entire story mapped out, so maybe it will get picked up by another network. HBO is very picky.

Raised by Wolves bummed me because it went from sci-fi into Game of Thrones-esque fantasy by the end of the first season. It completely lost me in the second season during the Mad Max Thunderdome scene.
I'd love a Raise by Wolves that was more sci-fi, even with the religious component, but without the fantasy stuff.
