The saltiest and most buttery bits of popcorn:
OP thinks it's unrealistic to show teenagers smoking pot in a basement in the 90s.
^ Respondent completely disagrees.
OP is convinced that they have superior taste, and that nobody who lived through the 90s could possibly have a different take. If they do, they're lying or stupid.
Nope. Your usage of lmao puts you squarely in the Obama generation. Stop lying - it’s pathetic.
^ Once again, respondent disagrees.
OP, however, sees an opening because respondent mentioned having a job. OP made sure to showcase their quick wit by replying:
OP begins to mention Obama quite a bit more, and seems to have something against people who were young during his administration.
^ New respondent doesn't like seeing what seems to be a political inference being made, and calls for the mods to ban OP for breaking subreddit rules regarding 'being civil and respectful' and remaining on topic..
This leads OP to sarcastically call on the mods to ban everyone in the thread whom they feel also violated subreddit rules. Eventually, this devolves into OP simply replying "Rule violator !!!" to people.
Finally, the OP passive-aggressively decides that any use of gendered language, even if not being used in a gendered manner, is sexist:
and;
You keep referring to me as a man. Your assumptions are sexist.

What’s the rDrama consensus on that 90’s Show so far? I heard it’s kind of decent but not that great either.

I've only watched 3 episodes. First seasons of comedy shows usually suck, so I'm going to finish in hopes they find their groove by the end of it, but it's REALLY bad so far.
The writing is stilted and cringe, just recycling 2-3 sentence setups with a punchline, so it means the actors have no comedic timing at all. The laugh track is incredibly over the top to cover up for that - like, there's canned laughter pretty much every other sentence these kids utter. It's really obnoxious.
They pretty much just remake the same 70s characters into 90s characters instead of developing new personalities. I'm watching it thinking "oh, that one is Kelso, and that one is Donna", etc.
There hasn't been any real 90s influence showing up other than one kid liking flannels, and it missed the mark on WHY flannels were a thing back then (grunge era, widening gap between lower/middle classes, etc). It's just "hur-dur, 90s kids wore flannel, so quirky, moving on". Speaking of, there's also a flamboyant gay boy main character. 'Cause yeah, high school bros were totes open about their sexuality back then, especially after HIV and the "gay panic" of the 80s
The best parts so far have been cameos by the original cast. If they lean more into that and twist the focus onto how they're now parents trying to make sense of their kids, reflecting back on their own experiences in the 70s, it could actually carry the show.

I mostly liked the first 3 episodes but the kids need to get better if I'm gonna finish it
And I am a huge that 70s Stan. I watched an Eric and Donna compilation on YouTube last night and I maybe cried like a baby

Oh - and kids sitting in a basement smoking pot during the climax of the war on drugs? Do you realize it had been turned into a super felony by 1995? The whole show is stupid. Not nostalgic at all, and you obviously didn't live through the 90s.:

In the 90s, the only teens who smoked pot at a young age were the super losers who never went to college, got pregnant in high school and then turned to meth.:

At least I'm not lying about my age. Your vernacular and grammar means you're either a regular 18-23 year old person OR you're a really unintelligent 40-something.:
