People wouldn't care nearly as much if those characters weren't being awkwardly paraded around on screen just to make a political statement.
Make random characters in the LotR films black and nothing really changes, but if the Amazon version characters weren't black you'd have absolutely no idea what the scene is meant to be showing. There wasn't really a narrative purpose.

Watched the first 2 episodes, realised that absolutely nothing of interest was happening and skipped the rest.
